Two-Bed Two-Bath in Coloma, California
When Tracy Davis bought a second home in Coloma, in the Sierra foothills with access to the south fork of the American River, she realized that the siding was old and worn and the doors and windows really needed an upgrade.
So they turned to Truitt & White to replace three doors and 10 windows, opting for Essential Windows, Therma Tru doors and Emtek door and window hardware to complete the upgrade.
“I wanted to use the existing openings (for the windows), I didn’t want to change the style,” said Davis, a realtor in Berkeley. “I just wanted a simple, clean, modern look that would stand up to the elements, and fiberglass is good for most temperature fluctuations.”
In addition to all the doors and windows, they replaced the old siding, added a new metal roof for fire safety, built a 300-square-foot outdoor porch to the two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,300-square-foot, single-level home. Still to come are solar panels and a railing for the porch.
The project began in February 2021, with C.J. Construction of Garden Valley as the general contractor. She’s pleased with the final results.
